Privacy Policy

Mono Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and handles personal information appropriately in accordance with applicable laws and this Privacy Policy.

This English version is provided for convenience. If there is any conflict between this English version and the Japanese version, the Japanese version shall prevail.

1. Personal Information

In this Privacy Policy, "personal information" means information about a living individual that can identify a specific individual, including information that can be readily matched with other information to identify that individual, and information that contains an individual identification code.

2. Purposes of Use

We use personal information for the following purposes:

(1) To provide, maintain, protect, and improve our services, including registration, identity verification, user authentication, user settings, and payment processing.

(2) To respond to inquiries and provide information about our services.

(3) To provide information about our products, services, and related updates.

(4) To respond to violations of our terms, policies, or other rules.

(5) To notify users of changes to our terms, policies, or services.

(6) To analyze service usage and improve existing services or develop new services.

(7) To conduct employment management, internal procedures, recruitment, shareholder management, and procedures required by law.

(8) To create statistical data in a form that does not identify individuals.

(9) For purposes incidental to the purposes above.

We may use location information to provide services that involve sharing location information.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect information such as name, date of birth, gender, occupation, email address, phone number, address, payment information, information entered or sent by users through forms or other methods, and device location information.

We collect information when users enter it in our services, when users use our services, or when it is provided by partners such as information providers, advertisers, or ad distribution partners.

4. Changes to Purposes of Use

We may change the purposes of use within a scope reasonably related to the original purposes. If we make such changes, we will notify users or publicly announce them.

5. Use of Personal Information

Except as permitted by law, we will not handle personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the stated purposes without the individual's consent.

We may handle personal information without consent when required by law, necessary to protect life, body, or property, necessary for public health or the sound development of children, necessary to cooperate with public agencies, or otherwise permitted by applicable law.

We will not use personal information in a way that may encourage or induce illegal or unjust acts.

6. Proper Acquisition

We acquire personal information by proper means and do not acquire it through deception or other wrongful means. We handle sensitive personal information and information received from third parties in accordance with applicable law.

7. Security Management

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent loss, destruction, alteration, leakage, or other risks involving personal information. We also supervise employees and contractors as necessary and appropriate.

8. Incident Reporting

If a leakage, loss, damage, or similar incident involving personal information occurs, we will report to the Personal Information Protection Commission and notify affected individuals when required by law.

9. Provision to Third Parties

Except as permitted by law, we will not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent. Entrusting handling to contractors, business succession, and joint use permitted by law are not treated as third-party provision.

When providing personal information to a third party in a foreign country, we will obtain consent and provide required information in accordance with applicable law, unless an exception applies.

We create, retain, and confirm records for third-party provision or receipt of personal information as required by law.

10. Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use

When requested by an individual, we will respond to requests for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, or suspension of third-party provision in accordance with applicable law after confirming the requester's identity.

A fee of 1,000 JPY per request may be charged for disclosure of personal information, unless otherwise provided by law.

11. Personal Related Information

We handle personal related information, including provision to or receipt from third parties, in accordance with applicable law.

12. Pseudonymized and Anonymized Information

When creating or handling pseudonymized information or anonymized information, we process and manage such information in accordance with standards and obligations required by applicable law.

13. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our services may use cookies and similar technologies to understand usage and improve our services. Users may disable cookies through browser settings, but some features may not be available if cookies are disabled.

Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

14. Continuous Improvement

We review our handling of personal information as appropriate and may update this Privacy Policy as necessary.
